Embedded Systems Engineer

Guident, an exciting teleoperation of autonomous devices startup, is seeking to hire an embedded software engineer to join our IT team. You will be responsible for implementing remote control, and Guident’s computer vision algorithms building the client side of our web applications

Duties include:

  • Develop remote controlling and monitoring autonomous devices’ modules with redundancy and diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with OEMs to develop control systems architectures, including software, model, and simulation development.
  • Ensure reliable vehicle operation of drive-by-wire actuators in all modes of operation across various autonomous or robot platforms.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability.
  • Get feedback from and build solutions for users and customers.
  • Engineer code that is standardized, efficient, and well-documented.
 

The candidate requirements include:

  • B.S. or greater in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Solid programming skills C/C++ coding abilities.
  • Previous experience in embedded real-time multitasking software systems.
  • Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN and LIN)
  • Familiarity with real-time video and data communication protocols or a strong desire to learn.

 

Bonus points:

  • Experience with drive-by-wire technology.
  • Experience working with vehicles or robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with browser WebRTC API and WebSocket API.
  • Familiarity with GMSL or GMSL2 interfaces.
  • Familiarity with the GStreamer pipeline
  • Proven ability to develop applications in startup and large-scale, high-performance environments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
